Dr. Victor Kidd is a Mental Health and Wellness/Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Consultant, Organisational Culture Expert and Psychotherapist, who utilises his clinical training to impact systems in sport and entertainment organisations. 


Dr. Kidd completed his PhD in Sport and Entertainment Management from the University of South Carolina, where he became the first Black graduate in the programme’s history. Dr. Kidd’s research focused on organisational leadership and capacity building in sport and entertainment organisations, sport retirement experiences of former athletes and athletic identity among Black athletes.

In this session, Dr. Kidd will provide unique and specific interventions regarding how cultural challenges impact the personal and professional lives of employees. Dr. Kidd will also provide you with practical tools to address these challenges and the importance of fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace environment. Participants will benefit from invaluable insights and practical tools to effectively navigate and address these challenges, ultimately fostering a high-performing workplace environment.

This session will provide you with actionable strategies to cultivate an environment that not only acknowledges cultural differences but also capitalises on them to achieve enhanced teamwork, innovation and sustained success.

David is the Performance Director at England Netball and is responsible for overseeing the performances of the England Roses, and England Netball’s High Performance and Pathway systems.

In this session, David will provide you with insight into developing a robust high-performance system, that helps coaches in a range of sectors to build outstanding performance in the players, teams and the organisation, by providing insight and improving capability.

David will address Coaching, Mentoring, Mediation, Problem Solving, System Analysis and Review, Strategy Development, and Project Leadership.

A career spanning all elements of the talent pathway, this session will give you a great understanding of the demands of high performance and the players / athletic development journey.

AT THE COALFACE: LAYING FOUNDATIONS FOR WOMEN IN SPORT

Ilhaam has been Chief Director of Maties Sport since 2014 and is a former Independent Executive Council Member of SA Rugby and President of University Sport South Africa. She was recently elected to the new SASCOC board.

Ilhaam is on a mission to ensure South Africa has sustainable and professional leagues for women’s sport. In this session, Ilhaam will discuss the opportunities that women’s sports offer for sponsors, with a particular emphasis on the challenges women face in the industry and the initiatives necessary to ensure proper recognition and credit. As an accomplished woman in sport, Ilhaam will also provide insight into the University’s contribution to supporting women in sports.

Geoff is currently the Chief Executive of Product Solutions at ABSA.

 

Geoff has 15 years of banking experience having held a number of senior leadership positions across the disciplines of Retail Banking including Managing Executive: Home Loans, Managing Executive: Absa Card and Payments, Head: Product and Pricing Centre of Excellence, CFO: Absa Mortgages; CFO Absa Card division.

 

Geoff is integral to success of the sponsorship behind the ABSA Cape Epic.

Dr. Zondi is a Physician and Business Executive with diverse healthcare and leadership experience. Her mission is to see Africa and her people thrive, applying her expertise and experience in clinical strategy, strategy implementation, change management and project execution. She is a dynamic and inspirational orator who has addressed local and international audiences on topics related to clinical medicine, change management, transformation and diversity and leadership. 

 

Dr. Zondi has a sound track record working meritoriously in fast-paced, competitive, and highly pressured environments, and has established a reputation for developing and maintaining excellent business rapport and credibility with key stakeholders.

FRAMEWORK & OUTCOMES: THE CULTURE, THE STRATEGY, THE PERFORMANCE

ENOCH NKWE
DIRECTOR OF CRICKET
CRICKET SOUTH AFRICA

Enoch has had a diverse and successful playing and coaching career. His coaching career started as a player-coach at Dutch club HCC Rood en Wit, winning the Hoofdklasse in 2005 and 2010. He progressed to coaching roles back home in South Africa, becoming the Head Coach of Gauteng under-19s and the Assistant Coach of the South Africa under-19 team. He achieved notable successes with the Lions Cubs and Gauteng Strikers, winning multiple Cricket South Africa competitions. In 2016, he joined the Netherlands National Cricket Team as an Assistant Coach.

Returning to South Africa, Enoch took charge of the Highveld Lions, securing victories in the CSA T20 Challenge and the 4Day Sunfoil Series in his first season. He also coached the Jozi Stars to victory in the Mzansi Super League and the Vancouver Knights in the Global T20 Canada as Assistant Coach. In 2019, he became the interim Team Director of the South African National Team and later assumed the role of permanent Assistant Coach. Enoch was appointed as Director of Cricket in June 2022.  

 

In this session, Enoch will share his vision of Cricket in South Africa and discuss building a successful environment for players, coaches and what the future holds.

The Cincinnati Reds are an American professional baseball team based in Cincinnati, Ohio. They compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member of the National League Central division.

Dr. Vanessa Shannon is the Director of Mental Performance for the Reds. In this session, Dr. Shannon will discuss the psychological aspects of success, resilience and high performance in various domains. We will explore strategies, tools and real-life examples to enhance their mental resilience, harness inner strength and cultivate a winning mentality in both personal and professional pursuits.
